- Working with the TCF Center (formerly Cobo Center), which has great existing green initiatives, on everything from reducing food waste to ensuring composting and recycling options are readily available throughout the convention center.
- Using compostable food and service ware.
- Eliminating the use of polystyrene (#6 plastic).

- Ensuring the convention center uses environmentally friendly cleaning products to minimize pollution and human exposure to toxic compounds.
- When possible, supporting local and sustainable agriculture by sourcing food and food products grown locally.
- We encourage attendees, and work hard as a staff, to keep our impact in mind and engage in activities such as turning off lights in meeting rooms when not in use, using public transit when possible or sharing car rides, and using re-usable drinking containers.

We know the travel and production associated with conferences has significant environmental impact. Net Impact is committed to being as sustainable as possible, and along with the convention center and our vendors, we are working on reducing our impact in the following ways:
Conference FAQ
When and where does the conference take place?
The conference runs from Thursday, October 24 through Saturday, October 26 at the TCF Center (formerly Cobo Center) in Detroit, Michigan.
What should I wear and bring?
NI19 is designed to be a fun, exciting, and comfortable environment. There is no dress code, but most attendees will wear business casual attire. Bring your phone (of course!) to interact with the NI19 app and social media, comfortable shoes, and business cards for networking.
Will food be provided?
We will provide morning coffee, lunch, and afternoon coffee on Friday and Saturday, as well as appetizers at our evening receptions. Breakfast will be available for purchase onsite Friday and Saturday mornings. NI19 will prioritize serving plant-based food at all of our hosted meals.
Will there be Wi-Fi available?
Free, high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the TCF Center (formerly Cobo Center).
I have additional accessibility needs. How can I make sure they are accommodated?
We strive to make the conference accessible to all of our attendees. The TCF Center (formerly Cobo Center), the location in which the main conference programming is held, is an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant center. Will there be a lactation room available?
Yes, there are two lactation stations at the TCF Center (formerly Cobo Center). We can also help arrange refrigerator and freezer storage. Please contact conference@netimpact.org for more information or stop by the on-site registration counters for access.
